Aerus 55L

Tensioned back panel: The Aerus 55L features a curved, tensioned mesh back panel designed that creates a breathable gap, allowing superior airflow and reducing back contact. Durable open mesh fabric ensures excellent ventilation, while the strategically placed anchoring point stabilizes the mesh panel with the pack body to minimize horizontal bounce. The anchoring point also creates a slight curvature that follows shoulder contours, reducing pressure points and improving fit.
Adjustable rigidity and curvature: The rigidity of the mesh panel, and thus the curvature of the frame, can be regulated at the connection point with the hipbelt.
Advanced frame design: Made from reliable 7075 aluminum, the frame is pre-shaped to create the curved back profile that allows for the breathable gap between the pack and the tensioned mesh panel, enhancing airflow. Additionally, the frame is curved in the opposite direction in the lumbar area to match the natural shape of the wearer’s back, ensuring even weight distribution for comfort and “locking in” the pack’s weight for stability. Four carbon fiber cross elements provide torsional stability and prevent bulky or oddly shaped items inside the pack from bulging out, which could reduce the gap and compromise airflow.
Superior weight transfer system: The tensioned back panel and hipbelt are directly connected to the frame’s bottom end for optimal weight distribution. Load lifters are also directly attached to the frame, effectively relieving shoulder pressure and transferring weight to the hips for enhanced carrying efficiency.
Comfortable padding and fit: The shoulder straps are 11mm (7/16″) thick, comprising of EVA foam and lined with breathable 3D spacer mesh for all-day comfort. Additional 3D mesh around the neck area enhances comfort. The hipbelt features an additional 8mm lumbar padding piece (for 19mm total thickness), improving lower back comfort and support, stabilizing the pack, and preventing sagging. The hipbelt also features 38mm (1.5″) wide webbing for a secure fit.
Ample storage options: Two large side pockets hold two water bottles or other essentials. A spacious front mesh pocket with a triangular tip provides extra capacity, secured with adjustable webbing to hold items like rolled mats. The roll-top closure includes a Y-strap with extra-long webbing for securing bulky gear.
Side compression: Side compression webbings conveniently clip with spider buckles, allowing quick and secure attachment of items to the sides of the pack.
Durable and lightweight materials: The main pack body is available in Ultra200X fabric for cutting-edge durability and performance. The pack bottom is reinforced with Ultra400X fabric for abrasion resistance. Side pockets, shoulder straps, and the hipbelt are constructed from UltraGrid fabric, combining durability and flexibility. See more in the “Materials” section below.
Customizable modularity: Optional shoulder pouches and hipbelt pockets (sold separately) can be attached using webbing loops on the straps and hipbelt. Accessories like the Packing Cube, Food Bags, Dry Bags etc can be paired with the Aerus 55L for maximum organization and efficiency on the trail.
Ice Axe Loop: For those icy adventures, the built-in ice axe loop ensures you’re prepared for any terrain.
Taped seams: Only when choosing Ultra200 as pack material. Seam tape is applied to increase water resistance and increase seam strength. A pack liner is suggested to ensure pack content remains dry.

The following materials are available as main pack fabric. Both fabrics are amazing for long term longevity. Choose Ultra200X for the most advanced option, that also features taped seams. Choose UltraGrid for a more affordable alternative still with incredible wear resistance and tear strength, with a softer hand and more flexible touch. UltraGrid does not come with taped seams.

• Ultra 200 X (130gsm | 3.85oz/sqy) – Probably the most advanced pack fabric on the market. It features woven 200D UHMWPE fibers. At a slight weight increase compared to DCF2.92, the Ultra 200 fabric has 3x higher tear strength, 3x higher UHMWPE fibers content, 7x the abrasion resistance. The backing of the fabric is a .75mil recycled polyester film and X-grid, that makes the fabric extremely waterproof. This fabric is used as main pack fabric.

• Ultra 400 X (168gsm | 4.95oz/sqy) – It features woven 400D UHMWPE fibers. The backing of the fabric is a .75mil recycled polyester film and X-grid, that makes the fabric extremely waterproof. It offers roughly twice the abrasion resistance of Ultra200 X. This fabric is therefore used in the bottom section of the pack.

• UltraGrid (146gsm | 4.3oz/sqy) – UltraGrid™ is woven with 210d recycled nylon yarn from pre-consumer industrial waste. A double 5mm 200d Ultra™ grid ripstop provides exceptional tear-strength and visual impact. UltraGrid™ is coated with C0 DWR that does not contain fluorocarbons, otherwise known as PFCs. The fabric is finished with a waterproof 1500mm PU backing. Bluesign® Approved.

Due to the shipping bulk created by the curved frame, the Aerus backpack may be delivered unassembled.

Assembly Instructions for the Aerus Backpack

1- Insert the Aluminum Bars: Starting from the channel opening at the base of the pack, insert the bars with the curvature facing the back panel.
2- Position the Carbon Crossbars: Ensure the top two carbon crossbars are positioned above the aluminum bars. To insert the aluminum bars into the top reinforcement pocket, use your fingers to squeeze the pocket entrance and enlarge the opening. Extra pressure may be needed for new packs.
3- Secure the Velcro Band: Thread the Velcro band on each side of the frame through the aluminum loop located on the back side of the hip belt, and pull it tightly to create tension in the back mesh panel and enhance the frame’s arch.
4- Attach the Mesh Panel Toggles: Use your hand and slightly press down on the mesh panel with your body weight, then insert the toggles into the grosgrain loops on both sides.
5- Ready to Use: Your Aerus backpack is now fully assembled and ready for use!
