Framus 48L

Multiple attachment points: The Framus offers 16 external attachment points that can be paired with 15 mm Gatekeeper straps (sold separately) for enhanced versatility. This system allows you to securely lash bulky items like tents, sleeping mats, snowshoes and similar to the outside of your setup.
Framed to frameless versatility: Both the aluminium stays and foam padding are placed in an internal openable sleeve on the back panel, and can be removed to transform the Framus into a frameless pack and shed even more weight. The aluminum frame is designed with a special curvature to form a 2-3 cm (about 1″) gap with your back for improved ventilation. 
Comfortable padding and fit: The shoulder straps are 11mm (7/16″) thick, comprising of EVA foam and lined with breathable 3D spacer mesh for all-day comfort. Additional 3D mesh around the neck area enhances comfort. The hipbelt features an additional 8mm lumbar padding piece (for 19mm total thickness), improving lower back comfort and support, stabilizing the pack, and preventing sagging. The hipbelt also features 38mm (1.5″) wide webbing with inward pull for a secure fit.
UltraPE Stretch front pocket: A spacious front mesh pocket in our new UltraPE Stretch fabric provides extra capacity thanks to fabric folds that extend the pocket’s volume. This ultralight fabric is made with a UHMWPE ripstop grid to reduce the propagation of tears and greatly increase durability on long thru-hikes.
Roomy side pockets: Two large side pockets in Ultra200X hold two water bottles or other essentials.
Elastic cords: elastic cords on each side panel and on the front mesh pocket allow to secure items tightly and on-the-go.
Durable and lightweight materials: The main pack body and side pockets are made in Ultra200X fabric for cutting-edge durability and performance. The pack bottom is reinforced with Ultra400X fabric for abrasion resistance. Side pockets, shoulder straps, and the hipbelt are constructed from UltraGrid fabric, combining durability and flexibility. See more in the “Materials” section below.
Customizable modularity: Optional shoulder pouches and hipbelt pockets (sold separately) can be attached using webbing loops on the straps and hipbelt. Accessories like the Packing Cube Large, Food Bags, Dry Bags etc can be paired with the Framus for maximum organization and efficiency on the trail.
Ice axe loop: For those icy adventures, the built-in ice axe loop ensures you’re prepared for any terrain.
Taped seams: Seam tape is applied to increase water resistance and increase seam strength. A pack liner is suggested to ensure pack content remains dry.

• Ultra 200 X (130gsm | 3.85oz/sqy) – Probably the most advanced pack fabric on the market. It features woven 200D UHMWPE fibers. At a slight weight increase compared to DCF2.92, the Ultra 200X fabric has 3x higher tear strength, 3x higher UHMWPE fibers content, 7x the abrasion resistance. The backing of the fabric is a .75mil recycled polyester film and X-grid, that makes the fabric extremely waterproof. This fabric is used as main pack fabric.

• Ultra 400 X (168gsm | 4.95oz/sqy) – It features woven 400D UHMWPE fibers. The backing of the fabric is a .75mil recycled polyester film and X-grid, that makes the fabric extremely waterproof. It offers roughly twice the abrasion resistance of Ultra200 X. This fabric is therefore used in the bottom section of the pack.

• UltraGrid (146gsm | 4.3oz/sqy) – UltraGrid™ is woven with 210d recycled nylon yarn from pre-consumer industrial waste. A double 5mm 200d Ultra™ grid ripstop provides exceptional tear-strength and visual impact. UltraGrid™ is coated with C0 DWR that does not contain fluorocarbons, otherwise known as PFCs. The fabric is finished with a waterproof 1500mm PU backing. Bluesign® Approved. This fabric is used for the shoulder straps and hipbelt.

Due to the shipping bulk created by the curved frame, the Framus backpack may be delivered unassembled.

Assembly Instructions for the Framus Backpack

1. Open the Internal Sleeve: Open the Velcro closure of the inner sleeve, as well as the two channels where the frame will be inserted.
2. Insert the Aluminum Bars: Refer to the video below to ensure correct bar orientation. Insert each bar all the way to the bottom of its channel. For new packs, you may need to apply a little extra pressure only during the last 3–5 cm of insertion, as the tip passes through the reinforced pocket at the bottom. When fully inserted, the top of the bars should extend approximately 2 cm (1″) above the top of the channel.
3. Close the Channels and Sleeve: Secure each Velcro tab at the top end of the channels, then close the inner sleeve.
4. Ready to Use: Your Framus backpack is now fully assembled and ready for action!
